JAI HO!

Twenty eventful years!
Two decades of confluence.
Two individuals from different homes,
Background and bringing up.

Twenty years of oneness!
Joy of building home brick by brick.
Creating new wonderful lives,
And ensuring continuity of life.

Twenty years of sweat and tears!
Of negating the ‘nay’ sayers.
Of taking bull by its horn
And of surmounting and achieving.

Twenty years of adjustments!
Of accommodating each other.
Fights, delights, sorrows and happiness.
And going beyond compromise.

Twenty years of caring one another!
Throughout the pain and despair
Of being concerned for each other
And for being commented as a true pair

Twenty years of experience!
Of becoming wiser with a conscience
Embedding maturity to its fullness
And of course, longing more of togetherness.

(On 6th February Shaleena & I had celebrated our twentieth Wedding anniversary. This poem is dedicated to her)
